National Adoption Month: B is for…
November is #NationalAdoptionAwareness Month. I am choosing to participate in a month long event where I will do one photo a day on how adoption relates to me with each day with a letter of the alphabet.
B is for: #Birthdays.
Birthdays can be very difficult for birth mothers and/or birth families. Birthdays are a yearly reminder of the who/what/when/where/what-ifs. I have experienced 13 of these days so far, and it hard to believe that another birthday will come on January 31st. Birthdays affect me differently every year. Some years I can go about the day as if it is just any other day, and other years I want to stay in bed so that I do not have to acknowledge that another birthday is here. On her birthday I will treat myself to a cupcake, silently sing happy birthday, send up a wish for her before I blow out her candle, and wait to see pictures from her birthday party that typically happens the following weekend.
